One day after class, as I spoke with the members of the gym, one member's story was revealed to me and it was simply remarkable. Bri has been a member of Farrell's for about 10 months now. I knew she was dedicated to each kickboxing class and strength training class and we all witnessed the changes in Bri's strength and determination. Her successes are a direct result of the level 10 work that she put in day in and day out.
I asked Bri to share a little about her time with us and this is what she had to say.
Why did you join FXB?
I moved to Denver in August 2015 knowing that it was a new beginning in my life which also meant it was a great time to make a change to my lifestyle. I was the heaviest I have ever been. I have always struggled with my weight and was sick of the way I looked and felt. I had tried a lot of different diet and fitness programs in the past but never saw the results I wanted, so I would become discouraged and give up. I was talking with a coworker about how I needed to get in shape when she told me about Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping (FXB). I checked out the FXB website and was amazed at the before and after pictures! I felt that this could be the place for a fresh start. With determination, I gave it a try the very next week and haven't looked back! It's one of the best decisions I have ever made.
What changes have you seen?
Oh man... the changes that I have seen are incredible, some indescribable!! My attitude about the way I look has changed so much, I can actually stand to look at myself in the mirror with confidence. I went from a size 18 in pants to a size 10. I have also noticed a huge change in the way I feel including having more energy. I have struggled with anxiety in the past and have noticed that I have it more under control. When I first walked into FXB I couldn't do burpees or push-ups and now I can! Going 5 days a week... wait I just said I go to the gym 5 days a week... I never ever thought the day would come that I would make it a routine to be at the gym every morning. If I don't go, my body starts to crave a workout which I never have felt before. It's not just the strength training kickboxing classes that has made such an impact in my life, but also the nutrition. I feel so much better knowing I am not putting crap into my body anymore.
Share some thoughts on the program.
This program is ongoing unlike some other programs where you see changes right away and then stop after a few months. As I am about to start my 10th month of being at FXB, I continue to loose weight and see changes in my body, as well as continue to improve my nutrition. The first 10 weeks are just the start to an amazing transformation. Show up ready to give a level 10 in the fitness classes and paired with good nutrition, the results will just continue.
What are some memorable moments you have had with FXB?
Walking in to FXB on my first day I was so nervous because I was joining on the 3rd week of the 10 week challenge. I was worried I would be judged as I was not in shape at all. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a coach who was very welcoming. I remember it was a strength training leg day and the next day I couldn't walk I was so sore. Right then I decided I was going to stick with it and it was going to work. I love the laughing that takes place while working our butts off. All the instructors make sure you feel at home and everyone is so welcoming. I have realized that the other members become your support system and are there to push you. I am about to have the best experience of FXB this summer as I signed up for the Tough Mudder with a team from FXB!!
Why should someone else join FXB?
You should join because it's a transformation that you may not be able to achieve on your own. It actually works! You not only gain personal fitness and wellness, but a support system that's going to cheer you on no matter your starting point. By the end, you will be able to do so much more than you ever thought was possible. The love and support that pours out of FXB is unlike any other gym...There is NO judgement!!
Since joining Farrell's, Bri has lost a total of 50 pounds, and 32 total inches, 13.25 of which were off her waist and 7.5 off her hips. Congratulations Bri!
